Regime. Does that sound comforting to you? Doesn't it bring up thoughts of fascism, communism and state control? Well, dear friends living in the United Kingdom, here we are in the regime. Pay close attention. In a recent piece of investigative journalism, Panorama and the BBC have done some digging into the existence of private Islamic schools across the country. The results of the research are to be seen everywhere, for example here. Now, in essence there is nothing wrong with being wary about extremism and its spread, and the documentary covered much ground in exposing some radical elements which appear to be linked to some schools, so I have no argument about that.
