paradoxical pleasures
it's a recurring theme that time flies by at breakneck speed, when all one wants is to sit back and focus, just for an instant. however, sitting back like this to enjoy a moment's silence seems to waste such an amount of beneficial time as if your world overtakes you, overwhelms and leaves one drowning, because you've stopped treading water in this fathomless ocean. how can we remind ourselves that the only success comes from keeping afloat, that our only reliance is God most high? why is it that we are so forgetful? why can we not make the truth we know become our reality? this existence, a body containing a spirit, is temporary. losing sight of that is nothing short of insane. it doesn't take a genius to see that we are going to die, so how can we be so stupid as to forget that? we try to enjoy paltry instants, and fool ourselves into forgetting our true purpose, and shun our obligations - what are we doing except throwing scorn in the face of blessings, biting the ha...
